Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to maintain a safe living and working environment for both the Residents and Staff of Duncaster.  Duties will include patrolling of grounds, building security checks, i.e. doors, windows, Resident and Staff escort (as requested) and vehicle security. Security Officer shall follow all safety regulations and practices according to Duncaster policies and procedures.  This part-time position is Friday and Saturday, 8pm-4am, every other weekend.

  • Vehicle maintenance and operation
  • Proper use of two-way radio
  • Emergency Response – interior & exterior
  • First Aid, CPR & AED certification
  • Proper use of fire extinguisher
  • Proper use of blood spill kit
  • Resident & staff escort procedures
  • Building door and window inspection
  • medical assistance & external emergency team interaction


Job Requirements

  • Must be able to handle emergency situations in an effective and calm manner.
  • Must have solid communication skills.
  • Must be able to identify Security situations as they evolve.
  • Must be capable of immediate response to emergency situations.
  • Must have general knowledge of first aid.
  • Must be able to perform both foot and vehicle patrols throughout the shift.
  • Must know how to operate two-way radio.
  • Must have at least five years experience in Security work.
  • Must have valid class 3 driver’s license with no major violations or restrictions.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions for various duties
